Optimal Psychology Institute

About the Institute

Optimal Psychology Institute

Optimal Psychology begins with how we come to know what we know. In Understanding an Afrocentric World View: Introduction to an Optimal Psychology, Linda James Myers, Ph.D., traced how a fragmented way of seeing the world sits at the root of racism and the other isms, and offered Optimal Conceptual Theory as a path back to wholeness, rooted in African deep thought.

The Optimal Psychology Institute brings that work to people where they are. Readers find the books and the Reflective Journal. Groups invite us for book studies, retreats and talks. Practitioners shaped by this work are listed in the Practitioner Network, and the Library gathers the research that cites and extends it.

The Institute is led by Dr. Linda James Myers with Cheyennis Doom, M.S.
